  1. Press F2 or Ctrl+1 keys from the keyboard and check the file location path and then click OK.
  2. Now navigate to Help > Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Select the Options tab and verify the Download location path is correct.

When Shared Download is off, the installation directory and the download location must use different drives.

1. A location path is incorrect

If Yes for the shared folder is selected, choose No
If No for the shared folder is selected, choose Yes.

  1. Close your QuickBooks company file.
  2. Remap your drive and then open your company file using a new map drive.
  3. Choose Help > Update QuickBooks Desktopand click the Options tab.
  4. Turn Shared Downloads off and turn it on again.
  5. Verify that the download location is using the new mapped drive and then click Save and Close.

STEP FOUR: Launch QuickBooks Desktop as an administrator

  1. Close QuickBooks desktop
  2. Now, right-click on the QuickBooks Desktop icon and choose Run as administrator
  3. Click Yes for allowing UAC permission
