A significant reason for the occurrence of this multi-user mode issue in QuickBooks is the incorrect QB hosting settings. 2. Hit Utilities in the options list and click Stop hosting multi-user access.
  3. Switch all the workstations to single-user mode with the same steps and open QuickBooks on your server computer.
  4. Go to the File menu and select Utilities in the drop-down list.
  5. Select Host multi-user access and restart all the systems.
  6. Launch QBDT on the server computer and try opening the file in multi-user mode.

The steps to repair the Network Descriptor file are as follows-

  1. Visit the location of your QB folder and open the folder to locate the Network Descriptor file (.nd).
  2. Right-click the damaged .nd file and select Rename from the options.
